The Power of Volunteering

About the event

One of the most common myths about mental illness is that it is highly uncommon. Yet 21% of U.S. adults experienced mental illness in 2020 — that’s over 1 in 5 adults. ‘Why?’ you might ask, ‘How is it this widespread?’ The answer is complicated, as many factors contribute to increased rates of mental illness in today’s society. However, some of the most pernicious reasons are:

  • A lack of public awareness
  • The inability to access mental health resources in their communities
  • The increase of depression and isolation because of COVID.

At The Help Show, we believe outreach at all levels is vital. We make an effort to educate our volunteers about mental health disorders before they begin advocating for their friends and loved ones to get the assistance they need. As part of The Help Show’s ongoing effort to build healthier communities and decrease the incidence of suicide, we are announcing this year’s first Meet and Greet event.

We are very excited to invite you to our Meet and Greet Volunteer Community. On Thursday, February 17th. Friends, families, and neighbors will have the opportunity to get to know more about the organization, hear from licensed mental health professionals, and learn how to sign up to volunteer.

Like today, there is no better time and opportunity to become a voice for your society regarding community and mental health equality and equity.

Please join us to build this unique PODCAST community that brings awareness, equity, and equality to mental health!
